EA Principals wishes you all an outstanding holiday season and all the best for an outstanding 2020, both just around the corner! In this month’s message, I would like to clarify, at a high level, the linkage between TOGAF® and SAFe®.

Whereas TOGAF® is generally considered the world’s leading Enterprise Architecture (EA) Framework for overall understanding of EA design and governance through its Architecture Development Method (ADM), SAFe® has made huge strides on the implementation side of transformation. SAFe® is not an architecture framework.

However, as laid out in the SAFe® for Architects Certification course (EA Principals has been very successful with its training of this course), Enterprise, Solutions, and System Architects have critical roles to play for successful integration with software and system engineers.

By being so heavily engaged in both The Open Group and the Scaled Agile communities, EA Principals is able to deliver special insights for all architects, wherever they are in the transformation life cycle, and we look forward to doing so in the coming year. For example, when you combine TOGAF and SAFe knowledge, your maturity rapidly accelerates in terms of how to define and deliver value as an architect.
